Huixquilucan allocates 44.8 million pesos for social programs

The government of Huixquilucan has allocated more than 44.8 million pesos for social support programs in 2026. Mayor Romina Contreras Carrasco announced that these funds are intended to combat school dropout rates and reduce the financial burden on local households.

The investment is divided between two primary initiatives: the ‘Monedero Electrónico’ (Electronic Wallet) program and ‘Becas Municipales’ (Municipal Scholarships). The Electronic Wallet program supports 7,000 families with a budget exceeding 18.4 million pesos. The scholarship program assists 8,500 students across all educational levels, from preschool to higher education, with resources totaling more than 26.3 million pesos.

Contreras Carrasco stated that these 15,500 total supports are made possible through responsible financial management, allowing tax revenue to be returned to the most vulnerable populations in the municipality.
