Huixquilucan creates MX$1 million emergency fund for rain and landslide response
The municipal council of Huixquilucan approved, by unanimous vote, a special fund of one million pesos to address emergencies caused by heavy rains and landslides. The fund will finance immediate actions such as cleaning roadways, stabilising vulnerable zones and providing direct aid to families affected by floods or mudslides.
Mayor Romina Contreras (Romina Contreras Carrasco) said the resources enable rapid deployment of emergency brigades. The municipality’s Delta Water Team and the 24/7 Municipal Communication and Emergency System will continue to monitor the Traditional, Popular and Residential areas, conduct de‑clogging, watch watercourses and respond to incidents. Residents were urged to keep streets clean, clear water‑accumulation in front of homes and report problems promptly.
