Huixquilucan installs over 40 free outdoor calisthenics gyms

The municipal government of Huixquilucan, Mexico, completed the fourth stage of its outdoor fitness program by installing more than 40 calisthenics modules in neighborhoods across the municipality. The equipment, placed in parks such as Agua Blanca, Bosques de La Herradura, El Bosque and many others, allows children, youth and adults to perform body‑weight exercises at no cost.

The rollout, directed by municipal president Romina Contreras Carrasco through the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, is intended to combat sedentary lifestyles, reduce stress and promote healthy habits. "We want our children and youth to have safe, free spaces that motivate healthy habits," Contreras said, emphasizing the project's role in improving physical fitness and community wellbeing.
