Huixquilucan liquidates historical debt with ISSEMYM

The government of Huixquilucan has liquidated a historical debt owed to the Instituto de Seguridad Social del Estado de México y Municipios (ISSEMYM). The debt, which originated from administrations prior to 2016, had totaled more than 128 million pesos.

To settle the obligation, the municipal government made a single payment of 58,360,000 pesos to resolve the installment payment agreement for social security contributions and quotas. Mayor Romina Contreras Carrasco stated that this action was made possible through a policy of zero indebtedness and efficient tax collection maintained over the last eleven years.

As a result of this settlement, the municipality will no longer face monthly withholdings of approximately 1.6 million pesos from its participations. This increase in liquidity is intended to provide more resources for public works, security, and social programs for the population.
