Huixquilucan Municipal Council Approves Call for Anti‑Corruption Citizen Committee

The municipal council of Huixquilucan, in the State of Mexico, voted to approve a public call for forming a Municipal Honorary Selection Commission. The commission will be responsible for selecting members of the Citizen Participation Committee of the Municipal Anti‑Corruption System. Council president Romina Contreras Carrasco emphasized that citizen participation, involving academic and civil‑society profiles, is essential for transparent public administration and effective anti‑corruption efforts.

The invitation targets individuals affiliated with local educational institutions—from basic to higher education—as well as civil‑society organisations such as parent‑teacher associations, sports leagues, NGOs, and other social actors. Applicants must be Mexican citizens of good reputation, submit a résumé, birth certificate, voter ID, a no‑criminal‑record certificate, and a sworn declaration. Submissions are to be delivered to the Internal Control Office at Luis Pasteur street, with a deadline of 15 June. After the selection process, the council will appoint five commission members who will designate the anti‑corruption committee.

The initiative aims to strengthen oversight, improve accountability, and foster an open‑government culture within the municipality.
