Huixquilucan municipality honors 1,700 teachers, pledges school upgrades and scholarships

On Teacher's Day, the municipal government of Huixquilucan celebrated 1,700 teachers from both federal and state school systems. Mayor Romina Contreras Carrasco thanked the educators, emphasizing their role in shaping the community’s future, and announced the continuation of the “Acción por la Educación” programme, which includes the second phase of renovating 135 public schools. The administration also confirmed the allocation of 8,500 municipal scholarships for students at basic, medium‑high and university levels. Senator Enrique Vargas del Villar of the PAN attended the ceremony, praising the joint effort of local authorities and the teaching profession in promoting social peace and progress. The event featured speeches, gifts and a musical celebration at the Complejo Rosa Mística.
