Huizhou 19-6 offshore oil platform completes topside construction

The Huizhou 19-6 crude oil processing platform has officially completed its topside structure topping-out ceremony at the Zhuhai Deepwater Equipment Manufacturing Base in Guangdong, China. As the largest offshore oil processing platform ever constructed in Asia, the facility stands approximately 85 meters tall, comparable to a 30-story building.

The platform features a design buoyancy of approximately 29,000 tons and a floor area equivalent to nearly 13 standard basketball courts. The construction process involved the successful placement of a three-story, 2,174-ton power module using three super-heavy crawler cranes. To mitigate the risks of offshore assembly and weather conditions, engineers from the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) utilized a modular construction and integration strategy on land.
