Hull City signs Robinio Vaz amid reports of racist abuse

Hull City has completed the loan signing of 19-year-old winger Robinio Vaz from AS Roma. The deal includes a €30m buy option for the French player, who previously moved from Marseille to Roma for €22m in January.

Following the announcement of the transfer, Hull City condemned ‘disgusting’ racist abuse directed at Vaz on social media. The club stated it is working with Humberside Police and other authorities to identify the individuals responsible for the discriminatory comments. The Premier League also issued a statement expressing disgust at the ongoing discrimination players face online and offered support to both the club and the player.

Vaz joins a Hull City squad that has started its Premier League campaign with two consecutive wins against Manchester United and Coventry City.
