Hull FC battle to avoid wooden spoon as losing streak continues

Hull FC, coached on an interim basis by Andy Last, are on a seven‑game losing run in the Super League and sit just two points above bottom‑placed Huddersfield Giants. The club faces a real risk of finishing last for the first time in its history. Last has urged his players to draw on the club’s proud heritage, saying, “Every time you pull the shirt on, you’re representing a rich history.”

The team’s next challenge is a Thursday night match against title‑contenders St Helens, with Last emphasizing the need for better decision‑making, tighter defence and fewer cheap penalties. He remains optimistic that a win could lift the club’s mood and improve its standing as the season draws to a close.

Hull FC still have fixtures against Castleford Tigers, Catalans Dragons, Toulouse Olympique, Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos before the campaign ends, all of which will determine whether they can escape the wooden‑spoon spot.
