Hull KR coach drops banned players to enforce club standards

Hull KR head coach Willie Peters has decided to omit Mikey Lewis and Tevita Pangai Jr from the squad for the upcoming match against Toulouse Olympique, despite their recent suspensions not officially beginning until next week.

Both players received disciplinary sanctions following a recent defeat to the Warrington Wolves. Lewis was handed a two-match ban for Grade C dangerous contact, while Pangai Jr received a four-match suspension following three separate charges for late contact.

Peters stated the decision was made to uphold club standards and address the team's high number of disciplinary points. He noted that the club is currently the most penalized in the competition and emphasized that players must face consequences for repeated behaviors that do not align with team expectations, regardless of whether the actions were deliberate or malicious.
