Hull KR faces lineup shake‑up as Arthur Mourgue sustains broken thumb

Coach Willie Peters confirmed that Hull KR will maintain the new‑look spine that was introduced after halfback Mikey Lewis received a four‑match ban for a head‑butt and a late tackle. The altered combination helped the club secure a 30‑24 win over rivals Hull FC, with Arthur Mourgue playing at halfback and Jack Broadbent covering full‑back duties.

During the subsequent derby against Hull FC, Mourgue suffered a broken thumb. Scans indicated a fracture that could keep him out for five to six weeks, though surgery may still be required. Peters said the injury is not expected to end Mourgue’s season. In his absence, Ryan Hampshire will be added to the squad for the upcoming match against Bradford Bulls, while the team will continue to operate with two full‑backs as before.

Mik​ey Lewis remains suspended until the rearranged fixture with Warrington on 18 August, and other squad adjustments, such as Jez Litten assuming more kicking responsibilities, are also in place as Hull KR prepares for the next round of fixtures.
