Hulu cancels Alex Cooper’s dating series ‘Love Overboard’

Hulu has canceled the dating reality series ‘Love Overboard’ after its first season. The show, which premiered in March, marked the first venture into unscripted television for ‘Call Her Daddy’ host Alex Cooper.

Hosted by Gabby Windey, the series followed 22 contestants on a luxury yacht competing for romance and access to amenities. While the season concluded with winners Gia Aldisert and Tim Demirjian receiving a $100,000 trip, the series reportedly struggled to match the viewership and engagement of other Hulu unscripted hits such as ‘The Kardashians’ and ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’.

Despite the cancellation, Cooper’s Unwell Productions continues to expand its programming. Upcoming projects include the ‘Unwell Summer Games’ debuting in September and a scripted series titled ‘You Deserve to Know’ currently in development at Hulu.
