Hulu develops series adaptation of ‘The Kid Detective’

Hulu is developing a series adaptation of the 2020 film ‘The Kid Detective’. The project will involve the original film’s writer and director, Evan Morgan, serving as an executive producer.

Alex Berger, known for work on ‘The Perfect Couple’ and ‘Quantum Leap’, is set to write and executive produce the series. Other executive producers include Rachel Kaplan of Abescon Entertainment, along with original film producers Jonathan Bronfman and Will Woods.

The series will follow the premise of the original film, centering on a former child detective whose past remains haunted by an unsolved childhood murder. When a new missing persons case reopens that old investigation, he receives a final opportunity to prove his investigative skills. While Adam Brody played the lead role of Abe Applebaum in the 2020 film, he is not currently attached to the new series.
