Human Body Holds ~30 Trillion Cells; Lymphatics Vital for Health

Scientific studies estimate that an average adult weighing about 70 kg contains roughly 30 trillion cells. About 70 % of these are red blood cells, which are small, lack nuclei, and circulate for about 120 days before being replaced by the bone marrow. Cell numbers vary with height, body composition, age and sex.

The lymphatic system comprises thin vessels only one endothelial cell thick, tasked with removing excess fluid and defending against infections. Manual lymphatic drainage therapy is reported to increase lymph flow speed from the natural 3–7 times per minute up to about 30 times per minute, potentially enhancing the system’s efficiency in fighting viruses and other pathogens.
