Human Physical Intelligence selected for Kyushu Institute of Technology startup support
Human Physical Intelligence Inc. (HPI), a startup originating from the Kyushu Institute of Technology, has been selected for official startup support by the university. The company focuses on developing hardware and AI to bridge human physical intelligence with robotic sensing and control.
HPI aims to advance “Physical AI,” creating robots that do not merely move autonomously but understand human physical characteristics, movements, strength, and intentions to provide safe, natural assistance. The company’s goal is to enhance human capabilities through robotic support rather than replacing humans.
In addition to the university partnership, HPI has been selected for the Toyota Mobility Foundation’s “Mobility for ALL” project. This collaboration will support the social implementation of technologies designed to assist human movement and physical activity through a co-creation development model involving users and real-world environments.
