Vinh Long police investigate human remains found in submerged pickup truck

Authorities in Vinh Long are investigating a suspicious case involving a pickup truck found submerged in the Chet Say canal. Upon recovery, the vehicle contained human skeletal remains and personal identification belonging to L. H. T. (born 1981).

The incident traces back to June 12, when three employees of Y. N. Co., Ltd.—N. V. H., Đ. H. Tr., and L. H. T.—were assigned to collect debts in the Ben Tre and Tra Vinh areas. While at a cafe in Phu Tan ward, L. H. T. borrowed the vehicle keys to retrieve documents and subsequently claimed he needed to seek medical treatment for diarrhea. After sending messages suggesting his colleagues return to their hotel and check out early, L. H. T. went missing and could not be contacted.

A significant discrepancy has been noted regarding the funds involved: while the group was tasked with collecting 363 million VND, only 144 million VND was found in a bag inside the vehicle at the scene. Police are currently working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and the identity of the remains.
