Human remains discovered near Libramiento Nororiente in Celaya
Authorities in Celaya, Guanajuato, have launched an investigation after human bone remains were discovered scattered near the Libramiento Nororiente. The discovery occurred in the vicinity of the San Luis Rey community, specifically on the road leading to the Rancho Ex-Hacienda de Santa Rita.
The alert was initially triggered on Tuesday night via the 911 emergency system after a passerby reported seeing a human skull in the brush. Following an exhaustive search by security forces on Wednesday morning, officials located the skull and additional bone fragments.
Security forces cordoned off the area to preserve the scene, allowing experts from the State Attorney General's Office (FGEG) and criminal investigation agents to process the site. The remains have been transported to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO), where anthropologists and specialists will conduct autopsies and genetic studies to determine the cause of death and identify the victim.
