Human Remains Found in Secret Mass Grave Near Reynosa, Mexico

Members of the civil group Amor por los Desaparecidos discovered two semi‑buried metal containers holding charred bone fragments and a clandestine pit with burnt human remains in the El Becerro breach near the Xicoténcatl ejido, about 30 km south of Reynosa, Tamaulipas. The site also contained two burned vehicles, a double‑cab pickup and a Suburban‑type truck, which the group believes are linked to the discoveries.

State Guard forces and personnel from the State Search Commission supervised the excavation, and the evidence was transferred to the Fiscalía for forensic analysis and victim identification. The find was recorded as the 97th search operation and the 31st such discovery reported by the group this year.
