Human remains found in Slovakia; cultural exhibitions open in Szeged

In Slovakia, a hiker discovered human skull fragments and other bone remains in a forest near Stará Turá. The Trenčín District Police Department has launched a criminal investigation into the matter, as authorities cannot rule out the possibility that the death was the result of violence. Forensic experts have been called to the scene, and investigators are looking into missing persons cases in the region. Experts suggest that DNA testing on teeth may be conducted to identify the remains.

In Hungary, several cultural events are taking place in Szeged. The Délvidék Ház hosted an exhibition titled ‘Threads Woven Heritage,’ showcasing the work of folk artists Valéria Sebők and Kornélia Galai, which focuses on traditional embroidery and lace-making from the Vojvodina region.

Additionally, the Fekete ház in Szeged is hosting a photography exhibition by György Németh titled ‘The World is Round, the Earth is Spherical.’ Selected from a collection of five thousand images taken between 1990 and 2020, the 32 photographs explore themes of solitude and human connection across diverse locations, including Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, and Burma.
