Human rights commissions launch new initiatives in Sri Lanka and Sierra Leone

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has announced several consultancy opportunities as part of the Support to Justice Sector (JURE) project. Funded by the European Union and implemented alongside UNDP and UNICEF, the project aims to promote and protect child rights. Available roles include developing curricula for schools and universities, creating training manuals for professionals, and establishing a child-friendly inquiry and investigation manual.

In Sierra Leone, the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL) has launched mobile complaints hearings to increase accessibility for rural communities. Supported by the UNDP and Irish Aid, these sessions were held in Moyamba Town and Blama Town within the Kenema District. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap for residents in remote areas who face geographic and institutional barriers to accessing human rights services.
