Human Rights Film Fest Returns to Rome Sep 9‑13, 2026
The second edition of the Human Rights Film Fest will be held in Rome from 9 to 13 September 2026. Organized by Iuliia Vdovina and the non‑profit Ars Mundi APS, the festival will transform the Parco del Torrione Prenestino into an open space for film screenings, discussions and international guests.
The programme features five thematic evenings dedicated to Palestine, Sudan, Afghanistan, Myanmar and the indigenous peoples of the Amazon. An International Short Film Competition received 180 entries from more than 50 countries; ten finalists will be shown during the festival and winners announced on 12 September.
Talks will involve journalists, directors, researchers and human‑rights defenders, including representatives from Amnesty International Italy, writer Sarah Mustafa, activist Maya Issa and spokesperson Riccardo Noury, focusing on current crises and the role of testimony in defending human rights.
