Human rights group condemns enforced disappearances in Gwadar
The human rights department of the Baloch National Movement, known as Paank, has condemned the enforced disappearance of several individuals by Pakistani military and security forces in Balochistan.
In Gwadar, two brothers, Sajid Baloch and Akeel Baloch, were reportedly intercepted and forcibly taken by military personnel while traveling back to their hometown of Kolwah from the Kantani area. Their current whereabouts are unknown. Paank has held state authorities responsible for their safety and called for their immediate release.
Additionally, the rights body reported the abduction of Mehraj Baloch and Irshad Baloch during a military raid in the Bhan area of Turbat on August 18. The organization described these actions as grave violations of international human rights law and called for an end to the practice of enforced disappearances across the region.
