Human rights groups call for investigation into Rear Admiral Krsto Đurović's death

Non-governmental organizations, including Action for Human Rights (HRA), Cetinje Anti-fascists, and the Center for Civic Education (CGO), are calling for a formal investigation into the death of former Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) Rear Admiral Krsto Đurović.

Đurović died in 1991 under unexplained circumstances following a helicopter crash during the initial JNA attacks on the Dubrovnik hinterland of Croatia. The organizations highlight his reputation for opposing the attack on Dubrovnik, noting his commitment to preventing shelling of the city. To honor his anti-war stance, the Assembly of Cetinje has approved an initiative to name a street after him in the Pod Granicom neighborhood.
