Human rights groups denounce Felipe Sastre for denialist statements

Human rights organizations in Entre Ríos, grouped under the Red de Organismos de Derechos Humanos de Entre Ríos (RODHER), have issued a formal repudiation of Concordia councilman Felipe Sastre following his recent public statements. The organizations have called upon the Colegio de la Abogacía de Entre Ríos to intervene and evaluate potential disciplinary sanctions against him.

RODHER argues that Sastre’s comments do not constitute a legitimate historiographical debate or a difference of opinion, but rather a denial of facts already investigated and proven by Argentine Federal Justice. The organizations cited landmark cases, including Harguindeguy, Díaz Bessone, and Valentino, which established that the Concordia Regiment functioned as a clandestine detention center during the military dictatorship.

Specific evidence highlighted includes the case of Jorge Emilio Papetti, a conscript who was detained at the regiment in March 1977 and subsequently disappeared. Testimonies from survivors, such as Jorge Martín Ramírez, corroborated the use of the military site for illegal detention. The human rights collective emphasized that Sastre’s claims contradict firm judicial rulings endorsed by the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation.
