Human Rights Watch warns police lethal force increases insecurity in Brazil

Human Rights Watch has reported that the unrestricted use of lethal force by police as a security strategy is increasing violence and insecurity in Brazilian cities rather than enhancing safety.

César Muñoz, the director of Human Rights Watch in Brazil, provided this assessment following the release of the organization's World Report. The findings suggest that current policing methods are failing to achieve their intended security goals.
