Humanitarian aid distributed to displaced populations in Burkina Faso and Djibouti
Humanitarian organizations have launched relief efforts for displaced populations in Burkina Faso and Djibouti.
In Boulsa, Burkina Faso, Oxfam and its partner SERACOM distributed approximately 267.8 tonnes of food to 867 internally displaced households. Funded by the European Union, the three-phase operation between May and July 2026 provided sorghum, cowpeas, oil, and salt via a voucher system. The project aimed to strengthen food security in the Liptako and Koulsé regions.
In Obock, Djibouti, the Sovereign Carbon Agency (SCA) provided material support to recently arrived Yemeni refugees. The aid included 500 mattresses, 1,000 sheets, 800 bags for women, and 100 tents. Additionally, the Africa Sovereign Carbon Registry Foundation distributed school kits to refugee children to support access to education.
