Humanitarian aid distributions target food insecurity in Chad
Humanitarian organizations are conducting food aid distributions across various regions in Chad to support vulnerable populations.
In Mongo, located in the Guéra province, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre distributed 1,000 food baskets on September 7, 2026. This initiative is part of a larger 2025-2026 food assistance project aiming to distribute 61,915 baskets across 14 provinces to combat economic hardship and improve food security.
In the Logone Oriental province, the Chadian Association for Food Security (ATSA), in collaboration with provincial social action authorities, provided aid to elderly individuals, people with disabilities, widows, and orphans on September 5, 2026. The distribution included over 300 bags of millet, sorghum, rice, and maize, as well as food paste, to alleviate hunger during the lean season. This effort aims to address food insecurity exacerbated by climate change.
