Humanitarian crises reported in Spain and Nepal

In Spain, the Red Cross is providing essential humanitarian aid at Trampolín Beach, where a large settlement of migrants has formed. The organization delivers food and basic care daily to individuals waiting to be processed into immigrant centers. The growing concentration of people has led to significant waste accumulation, creating sanitation challenges despite local government efforts to maintain cleanliness.

In Nepal, authorities report that 5,133 people remain missing two weeks after a massive flood involving ice, water, and rocks devastated northern and central regions. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has recovered 1,367 human remains, though only 102 have been returned to families. Police are utilizing DNA testing to identify victims, including 587 foreign tourists. Recovery efforts face obstacles such as destroyed infrastructure, water contamination risks, and the need to search through mud at the Upper Trishuli-1 hydroelectric plant.
