Humanitarian efforts target food insecurity and refugee education

In Paraguay, the 2026 National Food Collection was held in Asunción and various interior cities to combat food insecurity. Organized by the Banco de Alimentos, the initiative mobilized approximately 1,000 volunteers and 100 local sites, including supermarkets like Superseis and Stock. The goal is to collect 40 tons of non-perishable food to benefit roughly 52,000 people, including elderly homes, pregnant women, and community kitchens.

In Pamplona, Spain, Alboan and the Jesuits organized a solidarity event to support refugee children from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The initiative includes a march and various workshops to raise funds for the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS). The proceeds aim to support the education and safety of 2,000 displaced children and adolescents in the Goma region, which is currently facing a humanitarian crisis due to intensified conflict.
