Humanitarian initiatives mark World Food Day with donations and blood drives
In observance of World Food Day, various humanitarian and educational initiatives were conducted across the region. In Bihać, the Catholic School Center 'Ivan Pavao II' donated bread and pastries to the Merhamet public kitchen to support vulnerable community members.
In Croatia, blood donation drives were held at two locations: the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Iki and the Orthopedic Clinic in Lovran. The drives, organized by the Red Cross Opatija in collaboration with the Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka, successfully collected dozens of units of blood from local donors.
Other community efforts included educational workshops for young children at the Sisplac Kindergarten in Pula, focused on nutrition and reducing food waste, and a donation from NAMEX to the 'Svjetlo nade' Foundation to support women undergoing cancer treatment.
