Humanitarian initiatives mark World Homeless Day in Serbia and Croatia

Various humanitarian initiatives in Serbia and Croatia are organizing events to mark World Homeless Day, aiming to raise awareness and provide direct support to people experiencing homelessness.

In Novi Sad, the Solidarity Kitchen (Kuhinja solidarnosti) is hosting an event to highlight the living conditions of the homeless and improve local support networks. The program includes a communal meal for users and visitors, free haircuts, and the distribution of essential items and clothing to help individuals prepare for colder weather. The organization encourages citizens to learn about the challenges faced by marginalized neighbors and offers ways to contribute through donations.

In Zagreb, the initiative ‘Od srca do srca za potrebite’, in collaboration with the group ‘Zajemo u ljubavi’, is organizing a humanitarian gathering at the Main Railway Station. The event, titled ‘Deka za beskućnika na klupi’, focuses on social interaction and providing warmth. Activities include a concert by the children's choir Kikići Genijalci, musical performances, and the distribution of 50 warm meals, fruit, juice, and sweets. The organizers are also collecting blankets to distribute to those in need.
