Humanitarian organizations emphasize importance of strategic alliances

Representatives from several major humanitarian and development organizations gathered for a discussion hosted by Fundación Acciona.org regarding the necessity of strategic alliances in addressing complex global challenges.

Participants included Manuel Pastor from Fundación Acciona.org, Isabel Miguel Emperador from the Coordinadora de Organizaciones para el Desarrollo, Clara Díaz Ríos from Save the Children, Fermín López Unzu from Fundación Unzu Oroz, and Raquel González from Médicos Sin Fronteras in Spain. The panel emphasized that effective cooperation requires more than just pooling resources; it necessitates shared objectives, mutual trust, and the ability to work across different organizational cultures.

Manuel Pastor noted that Fundación Acciona.org focuses on promoting human development through access to basic services like water and energy, operating in ten countries and impacting approximately 200,000 people. He highlighted that their model is built on principles of permanence and collaboration, stating, “We stay; we do not just do projects and leave.”
