Humanoid robot imitates Cristiano Ronaldo celebration in Beijing
During the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, China, a humanoid robot captured global attention by scoring a free kick and performing the iconic ‘Siuuu’ celebration popularized by footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. The event, which features over 2,000 robots from 16 different countries competing in 51 disciplines, aims to demonstrate advancements in robotic movement, balance, and coordination.
In addition to the soccer demonstration, the competition highlighted significant technological milestones. A Tiangong Ultra model, developed by the Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics, reportedly completed a 100-meter sprint in 9.39 seconds, surpassing Usain Bolt’s human world record of 9.58 seconds. Other disciplines in the tournament included athletics, boxing, table tennis, and various industrial and domestic task challenges.
