Humanoid robot T800 engages in cage combat with person

In a first-of-its-kind exhibition held on September 18 in San Francisco, content creator Frankie LaPenna engaged in a cage combat match against a humanoid robot. The event was organized by Robot Entertainment Kombat.

The opponent was an EngineAI T800, a humanoid standing approximately 1.73 to 1.80 meters tall and weighing between 75 and 85 kilograms. While the robot’s appearance resembles the T-800 from the Terminator franchise, its operation during the match was not fully autonomous. Instead, a human operator controlled the robot’s movements remotely using teleoperation and virtual reality systems. Artificial intelligence was utilized to assist with stabilization, posture correction, and movement coordination to prevent falls.

During the brief encounter, LaPenna attempted to land punches on the machine, which remained largely unaffected by the physical impacts due to its weight and structure. The match concluded when the robot delivered a series of body kicks, with a final strike sending LaPenna to the floor.
