Humberto Zambón, prominent economist and UNCo academic, passes away
Humberto Zambón, a prominent economist and academic figure at the Universidad Nacional del Comahue (UNCo), has passed away at the age of 91.
Zambón held several significant roles at the university, including serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Economy and Administration (FAEA) during two separate terms (1973–1975 and 1983–1990). He also served as an acting Vice-Rector of UNCo between 1983 and 1987. In recognition of his extensive contributions to economic thought and professional training in the region, the university awarded him the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in 2014.
Colleagues and former students have remembered him not only for his deep expertise and institutional leadership but also for his dedication to teaching. Former students described him as a generous and enthusiastic educator who maintained a profound connection with his students through his approachable teaching style.
