Hunan man dies 90 days after colorectal cancer diagnosis

A 45-year-old man in Hunan, China, passed away just 90 days after being diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. The patient, identified by the surname Huang, had initially dismissed symptoms such as weight loss, picky eating, and blood in his stool, mistakenly attributing them to hemorrhoids or age-related changes.

Upon hospitalization for severe abdominal pain, fever, and vomiting, medical examinations revealed the cancer had already metastasized to his liver, lungs, and lymph nodes. Despite undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy, he died three months after diagnosis.

Dr. Zeng Furen of Hunan Provincial General Hospital noted that colorectal cancer is heavily influenced by dietary habits. In China alone, there are approximately 289,000 new cases annually. Medical professionals are highlighting the risks associated with certain common breakfast foods that may contribute to the development of the disease.
