Hundreds of pilgrims gather at Bosnia’s Bilska Misa and Croatia’s Vrana shrine

More than a hundred faithful attended the annual Mass at the Bilska pilgrimage site on the Bilim plateau in Herzegovina, marking the first inclusion of the “Bilska Misa” on Bosnia‑Herzegovina’s preliminary list of intangible cultural heritage. The ceremony featured a procession blessing the fields, prayers for crops and families, and traditional games such as stone‑throwing, underscoring the event’s cultural and spiritual significance.

In Vrana, Croatia, over 10,000 pilgrims from the Zadar region and elsewhere gathered to celebrate the feast of early‑Christian martyr Saint Nediljica. The worship service, led by Bishop Milan Zgrablić and local clergy, included a mass, confessions, and a communal lunch. Organisers highlighted the saint’s legacy of steadfast faith and the event’s role as a focal point of regional religious devotion.
