Hunedoara expands electric public transport services

Public transport services in the Hunedoara region of Romania are undergoing modernization through the implementation of electric bus networks. In the Valea Jiului area, the ‘Green Line Valea Jiului’ project, supported by the Hunedoara County Council and ADR Vest, has been operational for nearly a year. While users report improving service quality, authorities are working to address remaining deficiencies and optimize local administration support.

Additionally, a new modernized connection has been introduced between Hunedoara, Teliuc, Cinciș, and Frontul 2. This €2.2 million project, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), involved the acquisition of four electric buses and six charging stations. Operated by Prim Transprest, the service includes seven daily trips on weekdays and three on weekends. Tickets are priced at 6 lei, with monthly subscriptions at 120 lei, while students receive free passes.
