Hung Yen family shares story of overcoming parental opposition

A family in Hung Yen, Vietnam, shared the story of how a couple overcame initial parental opposition to build a successful life together over the past 12 years.

When Nguyen Trung Thanh first met his future in-laws, he was facing bankruptcy and had no assets. His relationship with Pham Thi Hoa was initially met with strong disapproval from her parents, Tran Thi The and Phan Duc Tao, due to the eight-year age gap and Thanh’s financial instability at the time.

Despite the resistance, Thanh persisted in his pursuit of Hoa. Twelve years later, Thanh has become a successful entrepreneur and a ceramic artisan in Bat Trang, managing his own ceramics business.
