Hung Yen fire kills shop owner near National Highway 5
A fatal fire occurred at a small establishment located along National Highway 5 in Nhu Quynh Commune, Hung Yen province, on August 31. The owner of the shop, a man born in 1978 residing in An Lac village, died at the scene, reportedly due to smoke inhalation.
According to Do Hoang Tung, Chairman of the Nhu Quynh Commune People's Committee, the fire broke out shortly after the man had returned to the shop following lunch. Initial assessments suggest the victim may not have detected the fire immediately, as he succumbed to smoke within approximately 10 minutes of the blaze starting.
Local authorities arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames and have since cordoned off the area. Officials are currently conducting a forensic examination of the body and an investigation of the scene to determine the exact cause of the fire.
