Hung Yen Police issue wanted notice for fugitive Vu Thanh Dat

The Hung Yen Provincial Police have issued a wanted notice for Vu Thanh Dat, born in 1989, following his escape from a medical facility. Dat is accused of theft involving three enterprises in Hung Yen province between March 26, 2018, and April 15, 2018.

While other accomplices have already been investigated, prosecuted, and sentenced, Dat initially fled the area. He surrendered on September 13, 2023, leading to the resumption of his investigation. However, on May 2, 2024, while undergoing mandatory psychiatric treatment at the National Institute of Forensic Psychiatry, Dat escaped.

Authorities have reinstated the investigation and issued a new warrant for his arrest. The Criminal Police Department is urging Dat to surrender to receive legal leniency and is calling on the public to report any information regarding his whereabouts to the nearest police, procuracy, or People's Committee.
