Hung Yen police uncover 1,000 billion VND online gambling ring

Hung Yen Provincial Police have uncovered an online gambling ring operating through the website Net.win. The investigation revealed that the organization used a system of rented and purchased bank accounts to conduct transactions and conceal criminal activities.

Initial verification shows that transactions through 13 bank accounts linked to the game publisher exceeded 1,000 billion VND. The case was initiated following a citizen's report regarding the gambling activities of an individual identified as NVM in Tien Tien commune, Hung Yen province.

NVM admitted to participating in online card games, specifically ‘Tai xiu’ and ‘Tai xiu SHA’, after seeing internet advertisements. On the platform, players purchase points where 1,000 points equal 1,000 VND. Winnings can be converted back into cash and transferred to bank accounts. NVM’s records showed 165 transactions totaling nearly 2 billion VND between February and October 2025. Authorities have identified 16 individuals involved in the online gambling activities as the investigation continues.
