Hưng Yên proposes 10-lane expressway to Gia Bình International Airport

Hưng Yên province is researching a proposal to construct a 34.1 km highway connecting the province to the Gia Bình International Airport in Bắc Ninh. The project is being discussed as a public-private partnership (PPP) between the Hưng Yên People's Committee and Đèo Cả Group.

The proposed expressway would feature 10 lanes with a design speed of 120 km/h. Additionally, the plan includes parallel roads on both sides, each with 4 lanes, resulting in a total transport corridor of 18 lanes and a roadbed width of approximately 120 meters.

The project is envisioned in two components: the first component for land clearance will be funded by the state budget, while the second component for construction will be implemented via a Build-Transfer (BT) contract under the PPP model. Hưng Yên aims to accelerate procedures to begin construction by the end of 2026. The province has already largely completed the route determination and is reviewing land funds along the corridor for potential exploitation.
