Vietnam Approves 500‑ha Hung Yen High‑Tech Park for AI, Robotics, IoT

On 31 July, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung chaired a government meeting that approved the creation of a high‑technology park in Hung Yen province. The park will cover about 496 ha near Hanoi, adjacent to major highways, airports and the Lach Huyen port, and is intended to attract skilled talent from the capital.

The development will focus on five pillars: smart manufacturing using artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and robotics; pilot production and scaling; a green technology centre; commercialisation of tech products linked to e‑commerce; and intelligent logistics. The Ministry of Science and Technology has completed the dossier and is coordinating with other ministries to finalize the legal framework. The Prime Minister will sign the decision, while the Hung Yen People's Committee will be authorised to issue the park’s operating regulations, reflecting the transition provisions of the 2025 High‑Tech Law.

The project aims to integrate Hung Yen into the northern economic corridor, linking it with the supply chains of nearby provinces and positioning Vietnam as a node in the global semiconductor and digital‑economy value chain.
