Hungarian actress Dia Nyári discusses daughter's rare spinal condition
Hungarian actress Dia Nyári has shared details regarding her daughter Emma's diagnosis of tethered cord syndrome, a rare developmental disorder where the spinal cord is abnormally attached. The condition was initially suspected to be a tumor during pregnancy, but the true diagnosis was confirmed after birth.
Emma underwent surgery at two months old to address the issue. While the procedure was successful and the child is developing well, her parents face ongoing uncertainty regarding long-term mobility. Currently, Emma receives physical therapy three times a week to support her motor development, as doctors noted the condition could potentially lead to movement limitations.
Nyári also highlighted the emotional impact on the family, noting that her seven-year-old son, Zétény, has shown significant support for his sister. Despite the medical challenges and a bout with rotavirus during her hospital stay, Nyári described Emma as a cheerful and well-balanced baby.
