Hungarian agricultural strategy calls for knowledge-based turnaround
A new strategic study titled ‘Turnaround in the Agricultural Economy’ has been released to propose a transformation for the Hungarian agricultural sector. Developed through the collaboration of OTP Bank and the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), the report advocates for a shift from a profitability crisis toward an adaptive, knowledge-based agricultural model.
Csaba Gyuricza, Rector of MATE, identified four long-term pillars essential for the sector's future: competitiveness, sustainability, knowledge-based development, and rural development. The study emphasizes that the current direction of the industry is unsustainable and requires a concrete action plan to ensure long-term viability.
