Hungarian Ambulance Service Highlights Heroic Rescues by Young Child and Off‑Duty Medics

The National Ambulance Service of Hungary (Országos Mentőszolgálat) shared two recent rescue stories. In Pest County, a four‑year‑old boy called emergency services after his mother collapsed in the family garden. Paramedics arrived within minutes, found the woman conscious but with a head injury, and provided immediate care while also comforting the children.

In Baranya, two off‑duty ambulance staff—Bettina Sztankovics‑Bakó and Roland Sztankovics—were on a picnic with their children when they saw a 60‑year‑old woman fall. They assisted her, coordinated the arrival of the emergency unit, helped move her onto a stretcher through difficult terrain, and ensured she was transported to hospital in stable condition. Both incidents were posted on the service’s Facebook page and praised as examples of quick thinking and community responsibility.
