Hungarian authorities seize 185 illegal e-cigarettes in Bács-Kiskun

The National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) seized 185 illegal electronic cigarettes during a targeted operation in Bács-Kiskun County, Hungary. The investigation began after tax inspectors conducted a controlled purchase of two flavored Vapsolo e-cigarettes.

Following the initial purchase, authorities inspected the seller's residence, discovering additional stock hidden in bedroom wardrobes and the storage compartment of a living room sofa. The 67-year-old man claimed the products were purchased online for personal use but admitted to selling them occasionally.

Legal proceedings have been initiated regarding excise tax offenses, budget fraud, and conducting taxable activities without a tax number. Authorities reiterated that brands such as Vapsolo, Elfbar, and Yuoto cannot be legally distributed in Hungary, whether online or in physical stores.
