Hungarian awards recognize community service and science educators

In Szarvas, Hungary, local authorities held a ceremony to honor citizens for their long-term dedication to the community. Mária Kovács Imréné received the highest honor, the Szarvas City Award, for her decades of service as an economist and municipal representative. Additionally, Katalin Molnárné was presented with a Pedagogical Award for her extensive professional work in education.

Separately, the Foundation for Hungarian Natural Science Education has opened nominations for the Rátz Tanár Úr Lifetime Award. The award, which includes a 2.5 million HUF prize, recognizes outstanding mathematics, physics, chemistry, or biology teachers with at least ten years of experience. Nominations are open until October 9, aiming to honor educators who foster interest in the natural sciences among students.
