Hungarian banks announce scheduled service disruptions

Several major Hungarian banks have announced scheduled system maintenance and upgrades for the upcoming weekend, which may cause temporary disruptions to various financial services.

Customers of OTP, Erste, K&H, MBH, and MagNet Bank may experience issues with internet banking, mobile banking, transfers, card payments, and certain ATM functions. Some disruptions are linked to planned developments of the GIRO Zrt. central instant payment system scheduled for October 18.

OTP Bank specifically noted that on Sunday, October 18, between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM, the processing of instant payment orders will be suspended. Additionally, business customers may face unavailability of digital services such as eBIZ, Electra, and Corporate API during specific maintenance windows on October 18 and October 25.
